This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This is a Georgian gilt metal seal
This is a lovely piece with a carved base set with a white agate stone.
This stone is carved with an intaglio of a letter and key and the word secret
The seal has an ornately carved base and handle with flowers and swags.
The seal measures 20mm x 13mm x 11mm and is in 90% mint condition – patches of metal coming through the gold colouring
