This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This is a seal fob made circa 1820 and would make a lovely charm or if grouped with some other pieces, it could make a very interesting pendant.
This is a Georgian gold seal made from 18K gold – please note it does not have any hallmarks but has been tested and is sold as gold. The seal weighs 6g.
The seal is set with a green hard stone engraved with initials JSCH – please note this is my interpretation of what the initials are as they are very fancy and hard to work out exactly
The gold seal has a rose coloured gold carved shank and handle decorated with raised yellow gold flowers and set with turquoise The seal has a suspension loop and a gold split ring.
The seal measures 20mm x 15mm x 13mm and the split ring measures 13mm wide.
The seal is in 95% mint condition – a lovely example
