Victorian gilt seal with a flower intaglio c1850

This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.

I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.

The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.

This is a small gilt metal seal which would be look perfect on a charm bracelet or hung with other pieces as a pendant.

The little charm has a richly carved base and handle topped with a suspension loop

The seal is set with a slightly opaque white stone engraved with the intaglio of a flower.. 

The seal measures 16mm x 9mm x 7mm

The seal is in 90% mint condition – age related wear making the gilding a little dull in places.
