This is an American pocket watch made by the Elgin Watch Co circa 1874
The watch will only tick for a short while and then stop. It is sold with No warranty
Movement – the Model 1, class 2 18 size 15 Jewel movement has a lever escapement and is signed “H Z Culver. Elgin, Ill” # 381014. The movement is in 95% mint condition – superb example
Case – the movement comes in a 3 oz coin silver full case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open to 90 degrees when you press the stem in. The case has some floral engraving and light initials AC on the front with the inner cover is engraved by A Cross. The case is in 85% mint condition – 1 scratch on the back and rubbing to the engraving plus some wear on the stem cap
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of beautiful pierced blue steel hands and is signed “Elgin Nat’l Watch Co”. The dial is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a fine mineral glass
The watch measures 56mm wide x 18mm deep
The watch is key wound / key set and comes with a key
