This watch works well and keeps excellent time however the front cover does not pop open when you press the button on the stem in. This is the reason why we have not cleaned and serviced this watch and it is being sold with no warranty
The watch was made in Switzerland circa 1880 – 1890 and was retailed by Thos Russell & Son, UK
Movement – the light nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement. It is signed “Thos Russell & Son, Liverpool, Swiss Made”. The movement is in 95% mint condition – a really clean looking movement
Case – the movement comes in a Swiss silver case stamped .935. The case has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The watch is wound from the back and set from the front. You access the movement from the back also. Please note that the front cover does NOT pop open when you press the button in on the stem, instead it needs to be lifted open manually.
The silver case has a vacant crest on the front and a smooth plain finish. The case is in 90% mint condition – light wear only
Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a blue steel sub seconds hand. The dial is in 99% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 54mm wide x 17mm deep
The watch is key wound / key set and comes with a key
