This is an English silver cased J W Benson full hunter pocket watch. The movement was made in their Switzerland factory, sent over to England where it was cased and sold. It has clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1939
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “J W Benson, 15 Jewels, Adjusted, Swiss Made”. The movement is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open crisply to 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – some very small marks only
Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a blue steel sub seconds hand. The dial is signed “J W Benson, London, Swiss Made” and is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 50mm wide x 14mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
