This is a Swiss watch made for the Russian market circa 1890. The day and months on the dial are in Russian Cyrillic.
Movement – the gilt bridge movement has a compensated balance and a lever escapement. The movement is in 85% mint condition – marks on the winding wheels
Case – the movement comes in a silver hunter case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open crisply to 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case is decorated with floral engraving and engine turning. The inner cover is signed “Ancre Remontoir, 15 Rubis, Quantieme”. The case is in 90% mint condition – some small marks on the side and light wear to the engine turning
Dial – the white enamel dial has red enamel numbers and gold enamel flowers. The dial has a full set of gilt hands and a day, date and month function with a moonphase function under the subsidiary seconds. The day and date, change automatically every 24 hours and can be changed manually by the pins on the side. The month and moonphase function are changed manually by their corresponding pins. The dial is in 99% mint condition.
