This is a Cal.73 triple signed IWC pocket watch with a gold case with a gold inner cover (as opposed to the usual gilt metal covers)
Movement – the high quality gilt bridge movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. The movement is jewelled to the centre and with screw jewel settings and is signed “IWC, Probus, Scafusia” # 879510. The movement is in 95% mint condition – the tiniest marks only
Case – the movement comes in a solid 14K gold open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The inner cover is signed “International Watch Co, Schaffhausen” and both the inner and back cover are stamped 14K, IWC, Probus, Scafusia.
The case has a carved bow and edges and coin edged sides. The back cover is decorated with a engraved rectangular panels. The middle one has a smooth plain finish; the others are decorated with engine turning – alternating vertical and horizontal to create a three dimensional effect on the back. The case is in 95% mint condition – superb condition
Dial – the silvered dial has raised gilt numbers and a full set of fancy gilt hands. The dial is signed “International Watch Co, Schaffhausen” and is in 90% mint condition – some small marks around the 12 with some light tarnish on the hands and numbers. Overall in very good condition
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 48mm x 9mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
