This is a rare English pocket watch which has a lever Karrusel escapement. The watch was tested at the Kew Observatory where It was awarded an Especially good Kew “A” mark.

The heavy English gold case has clear hallmarks for 18K gold and London 1903.

Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement mounted on a platform which rotates once every 52.5 minutes. The movement is signed “Especially good Kew “A” 81 marks, Page, Keen & Page, Plymouth, No 13970. The movement is in 95% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a heavy 18K gold open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The case has clear hallmarks and makers marks for F.T. London – Fred Thoms, considered to be one of the finest case makers of the day.

The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – the inner cover has had an inscription removed which has left a slight rippled finish on this cover only. The rest of the case is in superb condition

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Page, Keen & Page, Plymouth”. The dial is in 95% mint condition – the signature is starting to fade.

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 53mm wide x 15mm deep
