This is an early keyless winding English repeating pocket watch by the eminent firm of Hunt & Roskell. The case has clear assay marks for 18K and hallmarks for London 1875
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement, a capped lever and a fully jewelled. The movement has a slide activated quarter repeater function with two hammers striking on the inner gongs. The movement is signed “Hunt & Roskell, 156 New Bond Street, London, N0 13023”. The movement is in 95% mint condition – light marks
Case – the movement comes in a substantial 18K gold open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The case has clear assay and hallmarks, is numbered 13023 and the case maker is AS – Alfred Stram – a renown case maker of the time
The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – excellent condition and a superb example
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “Hunt & Roskell, London”. The dial is in 100% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 47mm wide x 14mm deep
The watch is stem wound / pin set
The watch comes in a period leather box lined with blue silk and velvet
