This is a two tone gold coloured metal Victorian pocket watch chain made circa 1890
The chain measures 310mm in length from the T bar to the dog clip and is made up of a single length of yellow ships block links interspersed with rose coloured curb links. These are 5mm wide. The T bar and dog clips are a yellow colour gold also.
Hanging from the T bar is a shorter length of chain from which hangs a two tone gold plated seal. The upper part is rose coloured and has a carved shank. The bottom part is a yellow colour with a plain base, ready for an inscription. The really unusual feature is that the seal hinges open and would have concealed wax, a memento or even poison!
The seal measures 24mm x 22mm x 19mm
The chain and seal are in 90% mint condition – a little tarnished.
