This is a large Swiss 14K gold pocket watch with double complications of a quarter repeater function and a chronograph function. The watch was made and retailed by Audemars Freres
Movement – the gilt bridge movement has a lever escapement with exposed steel work for a start stop and fly back chronograph and also a button activated quarter repeater function with two steel hammers chiming on internal gongs. The movement is in 95% mint condition – very clean
The movement is protected by a gold bezel retaining a mineral glass
Case – the movement comes in a 14K gold hunter case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open to 45 degrees when you press the button on the winder in; you then loft to 90 degrees. The inner cover is decorated with engraved medals in miniature and is signed “Medailles Obtenues, Audemars Freres, Brassus & Geneve, Par l’Ancien Maison Audemars, Fondee en 1811 ”
The rose coloured case is decorated with engine turning and is in 90% mint condition – light wear with the gilt bow becoming brassy in places but this is still a very impressive gold watch
Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt filigree hands and a gilt chronograph hand and a blue steel register hand. The dial is in 99% mint condition
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 62.6mm wide x 17mm deep – this is a large watch
The watch is stem wound / lever set
