This pocket watch was made by J W Benson of London in their Swiss factory. The movement watch was sent back to England where it was cased and sold. It comes in a top quality English silver case which has clear hallmarks for London 1937
Movement – this is a good quality gilt ¾ plate movement which has a lever escapement and is signed “J W Benson, 15 Jewels Swiss Made”. The movement is in 98% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a good English silver Half Hunter case by J W Benson. The case has a hinged inner, back and front cover and the front cover pops to 45 degrees when you press the winder in and then needs to be lifted to the full 90 degrees. The case has blue enamel Roman numbers on the front cover. The case has a smooth plain finish. The case is in 90% mint condition – some scratches on the inner cover
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “J W Benson, Swiss Made” The dial is in 95% mint condition – a hairline on the 3.
The watch measures 52mm wide
The watch is stem wound / stem Set.
The watch has a mineral glass.
The watch comes in its original red leather box lined with cream silk and blue velvet and signed “J W Benson”. The box is in excellent condition
