This is a Swiss pocket watch with a quarter repeater function which was made circa 1880 – 1890

The watch was sent to England where it was sold and has a family crest for the HIBBERT family engraved on the back and words Fidem Rectum Que Colendo - by cultivating fidelity and rectitude.

Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and a slide activated quarter repeater function with two hammers chiming on the inner gongs. The movement s jewelled throughout and is in 95% mint condition

Case – the movement comes in a silver Half hunter case, which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. The front cover pops open crisply t0 90 degrees when you press the winder in. The case has a gold slide for the repeater, the front has blue enamel numbers and the back has the Hibbert family crest. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – the crest is slightly rubbed and there is a small dent on the front of the case.

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is in 99% mint condition – small marks

The watch has a mineral glass over the front cover and a synthetic one in the front cover

The watch is stem wound / pin set

The watch measures 50mm wide x 14mm deep
