This is a superb example of an English silver pair case in 100% original condition and clear hallmarks for London 1863. The watch shows very few signs being used and is in superb condition

This watch has a fusee chain driven movement. These types of movements are extremely fragile and it is very easy to break the fusee chain if you have never handled one of these watches before and so consequently we do not cover this costly repair in the warranty.

Movement – the gilt full plate verge movement has a fusee chain with a verge escapement with a pierced watch cock engraved with a grotesque mask. The movement is signed “ W. Chuter, Farnham, 11357”.  The movement is in 95% mint condition – superb condition with light marks only

Inner case – the movement comes in an inner case, which has a hinged bezel and the watch is wound from the back, set from the front and is accessed from the front also. The case has its original bow and stem. It has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – practically flawless apart from some light scratches received from the outer case.

Outer case – the original and matching outer case has its original button and clasp. It has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – some fine scratches on the back only.

The watch comes with a selection of watch papers from Sudbury. One example is for a Wm Chrissy and dated 14/1/74

Dial – the off white enamel dial has its original pair of gilt hands. The dial is in 100% mint condition

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 49.5mm wide x 22mm high including the glass
