This is an extremely rare pocket watch which is not only massive but has a rare astrological dial. The watch measures 75mm wide and could well have been a coach watch
Movement – the gilt full plate fusee pocket watch has a verge escapement and a large pierced watch cock and steel regulator. The movement is signed “Robert & Compage” and is in 99% mint condition – practically flawless.
Case – the movement comes in a large silver open face case, which has a hinged bezel and the movement is wound and set from the front and is accessed from the front also. The inside of the case is marked 4438. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the unusual dial has a pair of blue steel hands, and three other long blue steel hands. The additional blue steel hand indicates the day, date and also a Zodiac symbol – represented by images around the dial plus. The dial is in 99% mint condition – one tiny filled area on the winding hole
