Silver gilt VIENESSE ENAMEL Heart shaped Verge. By Piot c1810
This is a Swiss / French verge pocket watch made circa 1810
The watch has been cleaned and serviced and is ticking but does not keep accurate time. It looses 1-2 minutes every hour.
Movement – this is a gilt full plate verge movement signed “Piot a Panchaud” and is in 90% mint condition – light scratches and someone has engraved “I” next to Piot
Case – the movement comes in a silver / gilt two piece case in the shape of a heart. The case has silver gilt panels inside decorated with bright cut engraving and silver touche marks. These support the enamel halves. Each side is decorated with a courting couple and the enamel inside has mountain lake views; these are visible through the circle in the panel on one side and when you remove the movement from the other. The case is in 90% mint condition – one crack on one corner, apart from that in superb condition
Dial – the white enamel dial has blue steel hands and is in 100% mint condition
Please note that this case does not have a bezel and glass. The watch was never designed to have one. The movement fits in the case and is wound and set from the front and swings out from the front. Once the case is opened there is no glass cover over the dial
The watch measures 60mm long inc bow x 44mm wide x 18mm deep.
The watch comes in its original fitted box.
The watch is key wound / key set and comes with a key
