This is a classic American Railroad pocket watch by the Illinois Watch Co.
It is the 161 21 Jewel 60 Hour Type II variant.
Movement – this is a superb high quality nickel ¾ plate movement which has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator, decorated with circular damascening, black enamel lettering, gold train wheels and raised gold jewel settings. The movement is signed “Bunn Special, Illinois Watch Co, Springfield, Motor Barrel, 21 Jewels, Adjusted Temp & Six positions, Motor Barrel, Sixty Hour, 161” # 5480011. The movement is in 85% mint condition – some scratches and marks on the winding wheels and light scratches on the plates
Case – the movement comes in a superb 10K yellow gold filled case which has a screw on back and bezel with milled edges. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – light marks and scratches only, overall a superb case
Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Illinois” and is in 99% mint condition – one scratch only.
