Victorian gilt and stone set seal with a BIRD intaglio c1850

This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.

I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.

The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.

This is a small gilt seal fob. It is a charm size and perfect to put on a charm bracelet or add to a few more pieces to make an interesting pendant

The gilt seal has a shield shaped base set with a green blood stone. The stone is engraved with the intaglio of bird, probably a dove

The seal has a carved base and a strut handle topped with a suspension loop and gilt split ring.

The seal measures 19mm x 9mm x 8mm and is in 90% mint condition – light wear only
