This is a railroad grade pocket watch used by the US government for military issue pocket watches during the Second World War.
This watch is working well but has not been cleaned or serviced and so is sold with no warranty or guarantee.
Movement – the high grade nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement, a capped escape wheel and lever and a micrometer regulator. The movement is decorated with damascening and is signed “Hamilton Watch Co, USA, 992B, 21 Jewels, US Govt, Adj Temp & 6 pos, C45924. The movement is in 90% mint condition – the main spring barrel has been polished to remove some spots
Case – the movement comes in a base metal open face case, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case has no contract marks. It has engine turned edges and is in 95% mint condition – an excellent example
Dial – the white enamel Montgomery style dial has continuous minute marks plus a 6 in the sub seconds and a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Hamilton” and is in 100% mint condition
