This is an English First World War pocket watch made by W. Erhardt.
The watch has English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1915
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with a compensated balance. The movement is signed “W Erhardt, London, 609709” and is also engraved with a broad arrow British government mark. The movement is in 95% mint condition – a superb example
Case – the movement comes in a large and heavy English silver open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and a hinged bezel. The case has milled sides, a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – light surface scratches only, overall a very good impressive English case
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands including a sweep centre seconds hand. The dial is signed “W. Erhardt, London, 609709” and features the broad arrow mark also. The dial is in 95% mint condition – some small crack marks in the centre.
