These pocket watches were produced by IWC for the Kreigsmarine. Only 300 approximately were made for and obtained by the Kriegsmarine and each one was allocated to a U-boat. The white enamel dial is marked with KM – Kriegsmarine property stamp and the nickel case is stamped with the Kreigsmarine eagle and swastika.
Movement – the nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and a micrometer regulator. The movement is signed “Probus IWC, Scafusia” and is also marked 1053050 under the balance. The movement is jewelled to the centre and is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a white metal open face case, which has a snap on back, inner and bezel. The inner and back are stamped IWC with a serial number if 1080914. The back cover has the Kriegsmarine mark (the Swastika has been rubbed out) The serial number is M 9834 and is marked with II KL – the classified markings of a 17 Jewel movement. The case is in 90% mint condition – minor wear
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is signed “KM International Watch Co, Schafhaussen”. The dial is in 65% mint condition – multiple hairlines on the bottom half of the dial
The watch has a plastic glass
The watch measures 57mm wide x 17mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
