This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This is a VERY small seal fob made circa 1810 and would make a lovely charm or if grouped with some other pieces, it could make a very interesting pendant.
This is a Georgian gilt metal seal
The seal is set with a green and red bloodstone stone engraved with the intaglio of a dog chasing a bird.
The gilt seal has a metal carved fluted shank and handle decorated topped with a carved suspension ring.
The seal measures 18mm x 10mm wide
The seal is in 95% mint condition – a lovely example
