This is an unmounted intaglio.
It is made of glass and was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this intaglio using hot wax to show that the intaglio works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the purchase of this piece
Please note this is a very small stone. Perfect for mounting in a ring however.
This is an unmounted intaglio and is made from a tiny rectangular piece of red glass. The stone is larger on the top and smaller on the base
The stone is engraved with an intaglio of a seated cherub or putti playing the lyre
The stone measures 8mm x 6.4mm on the intaglio side, the base is 6.6mm x 5mm and the stone is 2.3mm deep and is in 95% mint condition – superb condition
