This is a top quality piece with English silver hallmarks for London 1891 and makers marks for B & S.
This looks like a large silver half hunter pocket watch but it is not.
The piece is a pocket barometer and a compass set into the front cover.
Both functions are working.
The beautiful English silver case has a hinged front cover which pops open to 90 degrees. Set into the cover is the compass function, which has a silvered chapter ring retained by a silver bezel and glass on the front and back.
Inside is the silvered barometer dial which is signed “Clark, 20 Old Bond St, London” and is in 95% mint condition
The back of the case is decorated with an exquisitely engraved bird
The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – there is one soft bruise on the front cover.
There is a mineral glass over the barometer dial
The case measures 57mm wide x 20mm deep
