Most of the watches in my “Watches for restoration section” were purchased with a view to clean and service them and list them in my main section. However, when I inspect a watch if I find one or two faults then I list them here and this watch is one of those examples
This watch is running and keeping good time but has NOT been cleaned or serviced and is sold with NO warranty
This is genuine Rolex pocket watch made in Switzerland and sent to England where it was cased and sold. The English silver case has hallmarks for Birmingham 1930
Movement – the high quality nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator and a capped escape wheel. The movement is signed “Rolex Extra Prima, Swiss Made, 17 Rubies, Timed Six positions and temperature.” There is a serial number under the balance which looks like it is 741433. The movement is in 90% mint condition – light scratches and marks
Case – the movement comes in an English silver open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The Dennison silver case is also stamped “ALD”. It has a smooth plain finish with a scroll monogram on the back and is in 90% mint condition – light surface scratches only
Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Harmon, Torquay, Swiss Made” and is in 98% mint condition – the signature of the retailer is faded
The watch has a plastic glass
The watch measures 50mm wide x 15mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
