Good Stone set Ratchet pocket watch key c1850

This is a gilt metal key which has an internal rachet, allowing you to wind in one direction only, thus preventing damage to watches with a delicate fusee chain.

This is a superb example with a long body decorated with a coil design. The flared top or handle has carved detailing and is set with a good six sided cut pink and red agate stone. The key has a suspension loop and a gilt metal on steel winding pipe – a size 2-3

The key measures 50mm x 8mm and is in 95% mint condition – some light tarnish on the gilt on the pipe
