Rare gilt metal hand and Axe pocket watch key w/ JK initial seal c1850

This is a gilt metal pocket watch key in the form of an axe being held by a fist. The key rotates within the hand and has a gilt covered metal sleeve and is a size 2-3 approx

The handle is in the form of an axe. The fist is detailed and topped with a suspension loop.

The base is decorated with engraving and set with a white red agate stone engraved with initials JK in reverse

The key and seal measures 31mm x 18mm x 10mm and is in 90% mint condition – wear on the winding sleeve
