English silver VESTA The SAFTEE PATENT Birmingham 1925

This is an English silver vesta with clear hallmarks for Birmingham 1925 and maker’s marks for HJC Ltd. The vesta has a hinged lid and a gilt finish inside The vesta has a striker on the base but also a recess on the front where a strike board can be added – the vesta is also marked “THE SAFTEE PATENT” on the edge under the hinged lid. The vesta has a smooth plain finish. It measures 58mm x 49mm x 12mm and is in 95% mint condition – light wear only
