This is a Swiss pocket watch made circa 1910
This is NOT a Rail Road grade pocket watch. This is simply a pocket watch which has a Train logo on the dial and with the red 24 hour markings on the dial, made to look like a railway watch. The watch was made by Movado, Switzerland circa 1910. When winding the watch, the mainspring slips once or twice at the full wind and then settles to run a full 24 hour. This fault is reflected in the price.
Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “Movado, 15 Jewels, Swiss” and is in 80% mint condition – quite a few marks and scratches.
Case – the movement comes in a white metal open face case, which has a hinged inner and back cover and a snap on bezel. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 80% mint condition – many marks and some wear. The bow is a later gilt replacement
Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and a blue steel sub seconds hand. The dial has clear Arabic numbers and red enamel 24 hour marks. The dial is decorated with a steam locomotive train. The dial is signed “Anti Magnetic” and is in 95% mint condition – small marks only
The watch has a plastic glass which does have some scratches
The watch measures 56mm wide x 15mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
