This is a Waltham pocket watch made in the USA circa 1919.
The rare feature of this watch is the dial, commonly known as a Ferguson dial. In over 30 years of dealing with the watches, this is the first example I have had for sale.
Movement – the model 1894, nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement with a micrometer regulator. The movement has raised gold jewel settings, gold train wheels and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “A.W.W.Co, Waltham, Mass, Riverside, 19 Jewels Adjusted” # 23040545 and is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a gold plated open face case, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The unusual layout of this dial is quite distinct and unique to these types of dial. The dial is signed “Ferguson Dial, Patented for Waltham Watch”. The dial is in 99% mint condition
