This is a Swiss purse watch made circa 1928
This purse watch has covers which when you pull them open wind the watch.
Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “Movado, 4 adjustments, 15 Jewels, Swiss”. The movement is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a silver case, which has a snap on back and bezel. The case is signed “Movado, Swiss Made, Patent, Swiss” and has silver marks for .935 and London import marks for London 1928. The case is in 100% mint condition
The outer leather case has two halves with two internal racks which slide into the inner case and as the two halves of the outer are pulled apart or closed; they wind the watch. The case has a suspension loop and also has a burnished leather effect and is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the silverer dial has old luminous hands and numbers and is signed “Movado, Chronometro, Ermeto, Swiss Made”. The dial is in 95% mint condition – some paint is missing on the minute hand.
The watch comes in its tubular bakelite box which has raised letters on one end embellished in white “Movado Ermeto” and has “Swiss Made” in raised letters on the base.
The box is 55mm x 40mm x 24mm
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch is automatically wound by the outer covers but can also be manually wound / stem set
When the covers are closed, the watch measures 49mm x 33mm x 13mm
