This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This seal has a gold on metal base and a solid gold handle. The seal has been tested for the gold purity and is between 15K and 18K but please note it does not have any assay marks
The top quality shank has an oval base set with a red hardstone engraved with an intaglio showing the side profile of a lady
The shank has milled stepped sides and a strut handle with a suspension loop
The seal measures 25mm x 15mm x 14mm and is in 85% mint condition – some wear with rubbing on the shank revealing small areas of metal.
