This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This is a gilt metal seal which has a square base set with white hard stone with claw settings.
The stone is engraved with an intaglio of a tree wrapped with ivy and the following words, in reverse, “Without thy support I die”
The seal has carved base and carved strut handle and is topped with a suspension loop.
The seal measures 25mm x 16mm x 13mm and is in 95% mint condition
