This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This is a lovely gilt Georgian seal
The seal has a gilt square base which is set with a purple stone. This is engraved with the words
The seal has a carved dome base and a carved strut handle and suspension loop
The seal measures 20mm x 15mm x 12mm
The seal is in 80% mint condition – a lovely example but the stone is chipped and the handle leans slightly to one side
