This is seal was designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of this seal using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impression comes in a small plastic case and is included with the seal.
This is a lovely gilt Victorian seal
The seal has a gilt square base is set with a red hard stone. This is engraved with a detailed intaglio of two flowers
The seal has a carved dome base and strut handle and suspension loop
The seal measures 28mm x 16mm x 14mm
The seal is in 90% mint condition – a lovely example with light wear
