This is one of the best examples of a gold chain I have had the pleasure in selling for quite some time. You really don’t see examples like this anymore as due to the price of gold so many have been melted down.
This is a Victorian example with hallmarks for Birmingham 1870 and is stamped 9K on every link.
The chain is a lovely rose gold colour and is much bigger and substantial than normal chains.
The chain is made up of a single length of long oval links interspersed with curb links. At each end is a dog clip. The chain has a larger ring and attached to this is a T bar and a shorter length of chain from which you can hang a fob or accessory. This large link can be positioned in the middle of the chain, forming a double watch chain or at either end, creating a single watch chain.
The chain measures from end to end 390mm and is 6.4mm wide. The chain weighs 47.5g. The chain is long enough to go around the average neck, making a wonderful necklace
The chain is in 100% mint condition
