18s 17J Omega pocket watch made for the Canadian market c1918

This is a Swiss made pocket watch by Omega. This particular watch was made for the Canadian market.

Movement- the large nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and a micrometer regulator. The movement has a raised gold jewel setting in the centre, is decorated with damascening and is signed “Omega Watch Co, Swiss, 17 Jewels and adjusted 2 positions” #

5610630. The movement is in 90% mint condition – a small mark on the winding wheel and light tarnish

Case – the movement comes in a gold plated open face case, which has a screw off back and front. The inside of the back cover is signed “Alpha, P.W.E.Co, Ltd, Case Made in Canada”. The case is decorated with floral engraving and lightly engraved initials on the back cover.

The case is in 80% mint condition – patches of gold plating worn around the edges and stem plus general wear on the rest of the case

Dial – the white enamel dial is double sunk and has a full set of blue steel hands. The dial is signed “Omega, Swiss Made” and is in the typical Canadian market style with an inner 24 hour chapter ring. The dial is in 95% mint condition – a light hairline in the centre.
