This is a Swiss watch made for the American market.
The watch sits in a small book shaped compact made from chromed metal and covered in green enamel – very stylish and typical Art Deco design.
The compact when closed measures 76mm x 49mm x 10mm and is in 95% mint condition
The compact has a a hinged lid which has an aperture for the watch.
Inside there is a hinged chrome lid which has a mirror finish and was designed to be used as a mirror.
This lid opens to reveal two compartments – one for white face powder, the other for reddish pink powder. Both with their original contents and fabric applicator.
Next to it, is a smaller chrome rectangle which holds the watch.
This hinges open so you can gain access to the movement.
The watch has a nickel rectangular movement with a lever escapement, signed “Bedford Watch Co, 15 Jewels, 2 Adjustments, Swiss” # 28575. The movement is in 95% mint condition
The silvered dial has typical Art Deco style hands and numbers and is signed A & F Co, New York. (Abercombie & Fitch) The dial is in 85% mint condition – a little faded.
The watch has a synthetic glass
