This is a Swiss watch by Omega, made for and used by the British government during World War 2.
The really unusual feature of this watch is the condition. This watch has never been used which is quite a rarity with military pieces.
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “Omega, 15 Jewels, Swiss” #10013776. The movement is in 100% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a nickel open face case, which has a snap on back and bezel. The inside of the case is signed “Omega” and the back is engraved “GSTP, F053340” and is also engraved with a broad arrow British government mark. The rest of the case has a smooth plain finish and is in 99.99% condition – practically unused apart from very feint marks from case openers
Dial – the white enamel dial has old luminous numbers and hands – long since lost their luminosity. The dial is signed “Omega, Swiss Made” and is in 99% mint condition – the dial is perfect but there is the odd spot of detritus from old paint
The watch has a synthetic glass
The watch measures 51.5mm wide x 13mm deep
The watch is stem wound / stem set
