This is a Swiss pocket watch made for the French market
The watch is much larger than usual and I have included a photo of the watch next to a standard 50mm or 16 size watch to give a comparison.
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “Automobile Regulateur, Anti Magnetique, depose”. The movement is in 95% mint condition.
Case – the movement comes in a large white metal case, which has a hinged inner, back and snap on bezel. The inner has been hand engraved “E. Tourraud, 1906”. The inner does have some scratches from watch openers.
The back of the case is decorated with a finely detailed scene of a hunter and hound. The case is then decorated with rings of foliage, all in high relief plus carved edges, bezel and bow. The case is in 90% mint condition – some wear and rubbing to the high points and the silvered colour of the metal reveals a duller metal colour underneath
Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt filigree hands and is decorated with an image of the very early types of automobile. The dial is signed “Automobile Regulateur Depose” and is in 95% mint condition – a very faint hairline from the 2 to the 4.
The watch measures 70mm wide x 19mm deep
