This is a Swiss pocket watch made by Grana. These watches are of particularly rugged and robust design and perfect for every day use. Many of these watches were used by the British and German military in WW2 but this has no military markings. The brand Grana became Certina in 1924 and after WW2 the Grana name died out.
Movement – nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and is decorated with damascening. The movement is signed “KF262, Grana” and is in 80% mint condition – the centre bridge has some scratches around the pinion
Case – the movement comes in an unusual two piece case, which has a snap on back. The movement has a metal inner cover is screwed in place which simultaneously holds the winder in place. The inner cover is tarnished. The rest of the metal case has a smooth plain finish and is in 80% mint condition – some scratches on the back.
Dial – the black paint on metal dial has old luminous numbers and hands. The dial is signed “Grana” and is in 98% mint condition
