Gunmetal minute repeater pocket watch by LeCoultre c1890
This is a superb example of a gunmetal minute repeater. Usually minute repeater which have gunmetal cases are not of the highest quality. This watch was made by LeCoultre and has a particularly high grade movement, jewelled throughout and jewelled to the hammers

Movement – the high quality gilt bridge movement has a lever escapement with a slide activated minute repeater function with two hammers striking on the inner gongs. The movement is jewelled throughout and has raised gold jewel settings. The movement is signed “LeCoultre” and is in 95% mint condition – some cloudy stains
Case – the movement comes in a gunmetal open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and snap on bezel. The case has a gilt bow, slide, thumbpiece and ring retaining the glass in the bezel. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 85% mint condition – some small rough patches on the back, traces of rust on the inner cover and a small piece of gilt wire work missing on the winder
Dial – the white enamel dial has a pair of gilt hands and is in 90% mint condition – a hairline at the 10 and 3
The watch measures 55mm wide x 18mm deep
The watch is stem wound / pin set
The watch has a mineral bevelled glass
