These deck watches were produced by Emile Matthey Tissot using a movement from H. Golay. These watches were used in the Second World War and then many were used by the Pakistan Navy. Later sent to the Chronometer section at Herstmonceux castle in Sussex.

An example is kept in the collection at the Royal museum at Greenwich.

This is particularly fine example as it shows very little wear.

Movement – the good quality bridge movement has a wheel positioned on the bridge which is for the centre seconds hand. The movement has a cap on the lever. The movement is in 95% mint condition – 1 light scratch on the cock and some old cloudy oil marks

Case – the movement comes in a stainless steel open face case, which has a screw off back and bezel. The case is engraved on the back “HS3” and with the broad arrow British government mark. The case has turned detailing on the edges with a smooth plain finish on the rest of the case. The case is in 98% mint condition – superb condition

Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands including a sweep centre seconds hand. The dial is signed “EMT, 1550” and again features a broad arrow. The dial is in 100% mint condition

The watch has a bevelled mineral glass

The watch measures 62mm wide x 19mm deep

The watch is stem wound / stem set

The watch comes in a wooden box with glazed aperture, latch and velvet lined insert. The box also comes with its original card from the Ministry of Defence, from 1975, probably when the watch was sold by the MOD.
