Rare digital dial calendar pocket watch c1910

Code: 3.38

SOLD

This is a Swiss pocket watch made circa 1910 and has a very rare calendar dial

In the 30 plus years I have been dealing with pocket watches this is the only example I have seen; I have never seen this dial before

Movement – nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with feather pattern damascening and is signed “No 39570”. The movement is in 95% mint condition.

Case – the movement comes in a gunmetal open face case, which has a snap on back and bezel and a glass cover over the movement. The inside of the back cover is numbered 39570

The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 99% mint condition – this case is in superb condition for a gunmetal case and shows virtually no use. The case still has its original bluing.

Dial – the unusual dial has a white, then grey chapter rings with an olive grey centre. The dial has a silver disc under the 12 which partially reveals two revolving discs which display the day and date. These jump into position every 24 hours and can also be set by corresponding pins under the bezel. The little silver disc is decorated with bright cut engraving and a monogram CM and also Brevete.

The dial has a full set of gilt hands and is in 90% mint condition – some restoration on the 7-8 and some old blue hairlines on the sub seconds dial

The watch has a mineral glass

The watch measures 52mm wide x 19mm deep

The watch is stem wound / stem set (the watch has a patent lever set mechanism).
