This is a Swiss silver pocket watch which was retailed by Dent.
The watch has a split seconds chronograph function, also known as a Rattrapante.
Movement – the gilt ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement with exposed steel work for the two start, stop, fly back and reset split seconds function with register. The movement has patent numbers under the steel work and the movement is in 100% mint condition – a superb example
Case – the movement comes in a silver open face case, which has a hinged inner, back and bezel. The inner cover is signed “Examined by Dent, 4, Royal Exchange and 61 Strand, London”. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the white enamel has a full set of blue steel hands, including the two chronograph hands and the subsidiary hands. The dial has a 30 minute register and an outer chapter rung graduated into miles per hours into ¼ mile distances. The dial is in 95% mint condition – 1 small hairline between the centre and the register
