These seals were designed to be used with hot wax for sealing letters.
I have made an impression of the seals using hot wax to show that the seal works as intended and also to give a clearer image of the intaglio.
The wax impressions come in a small plastic case and is included with the seals and key.
This is a high carat trio of gold key and two seals with a matching split ring.
The wonderful thing about this piece is that they are in unused / pristine condition
The fobs have no assay marks but are 18K – 20K and are sold with a 100% refund guarantee that they are as described
The key has a fine two piece handle in the form of flowers and leaves. The key has a very fine suspension loop with milled detailing. The steel pipe has lost its gilding, not from use but age. It is a size 0-1 approx. It measures 26mm x 7.6mm x 1.7mm
Seal number 1 is made from the same two pieces of gold with the same decoration as the key. The seal has a gold square base with a claw setting and with an orange stone. This has a small butterfly intaglio. The seal is topped with a fine suspension loop in the form of a naturalistic coiled branch. The seal measures 18mm x 8mm x 8mm
Seal number 2 is larger than 1 but is in the same identical form with the same suspension loop. The larger base has an orange stone and a harp intaglio
The split ring is finely detailed and in the form of a coiled snake. This measures 13mm x 1.3mm
