Most of the watches in my “Watches for restoration section” were purchased with a view to clean and service them and list them in my main section. However, when I inspect a watch if I find one or two faults then I list them here and this watch is one of those examples
The watch runs well but has not been cleaned or serviced
The watch has a plastic glass which is a little proud and has caused a minor sprain on the front cover resulting in a front cover which does not pop open when you press the winder in.
There is also a pin point dent on the back of the case also.
Movement – the high quality nickel bridge movement has a lever escapement and is decorated with fishscale damascening. The movement is signed “Tavannes Watch Co, 16 Jewels, 4 Adjustments, 4 settings, Swiss Made” The movement is in 95% mint condition
Case – the movement comes in a top quality English silver hunter case by Dennison which has a hinged inner, back and front cover. Note the front cover is catching when you press the winder in and the case spring is weak going to 45 degrees only and not 90 degrees. The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 90% mint condition – one pin point dent on the back
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is in 98% mint condition – debris on the dial
