This watch is made by the Swiss pocket watch company Vertex. The movement was sent to England where it was cased in a high quality English gold plated case and sold.
Movement – the nickel ¾ plate movement has a lever escapement and is signed “Vertex Revue, 15 Jewels, Swiss Made” and is in 95% mint condition – super clean condition
Case – the movement comes in a gold plated open face case made by Dennison, which has a hinged inner, back and snap on bezel.
The inner cover is engraved “British Railways, TH Wagstaff, In recognition of 45 yeas service”
The case has a smooth plain finish and is in 95% mint condition – light marks only
Dial – the white enamel dial has a full set of gilt hands and is signed “Vertex, Revue, Swiss Made”. The dial is in 100% mint condition.
