This pocket watch was made by the eminent maker LeRoy & Fils, watchmaker to the French royal court.
This pocket watch has an 18K gold case, which has a gold content in excess of £700.
The watch has two major flaws. One is the dial is split and secondly, the movement has seized balanced.
The watch is not working
Movement – the top quality gilt ¾ plate movement has a going barrel – not fusee and a cylinder escapement with a gold three arm balance. The movement is signed “Leroy & Fils, Hgers du Roi a Paris, No 16624, CD”. The movement is in 95% mint condition – fine visually but a seized balance
Case – the movement comes in a top quality and beautiful 18K gold open face two piece case, which has a sprung front cover, released by depressing the button on the stem. The segmented case has deep scallops and the case has a pink hue. It is decorated with raised gold flowers and leaves in pink and yellow gold and also large gold set paste stones. The case is in 95% mint condition
Dial – the two tone meta dial has a full set of blue steel hands and is in poor condition – visible splits and marks
The watch has a mineral glass
The watch measures 43mm wide x 11mm deep
